In Colombia shingles is called "culebrilla" which means little snake. There's a common belief that if you allow this cullebrilla to surround your body, for example your entire torso, you will die immediately.

But there are cures for this! You have to go to a "curandero" (this is like a male witch) and he has to do some praying and he will give you some herbs to help you avoid death. You can also get a "rezo" (a ritual pray) from a curandera (a female one), but people prefer male.
